garden ponderings

Copy of hosta

Hosta plants have beautiful, dramatic leaves, so I see the flower as as sort of ‘icing on the cake’.  Shade, which these plants require, is hard to come by in my flower beds, so this is the only example of a large family that I have here.

My friend who lives in the mountains has a number of these in her garden.  I believe the high altitude contributes to her many hostas flourishing.
